Route: Athens-Olympia-Delphi-Kalambaka-Athens


Itinerary

Day 1 : Athens / Olympia
Today is the first day of your 4 day tour with us and your journey will begin with a departure from Athens and driving southwest untill we reach the Corinth Canal which was completed back in 1893 – This canal effectively makes the Peloponnese peninsula an island. Before the canal was built the ships would sail between the Aegean and Adriatic which made their route alot longer then, but since the canal was built it saves alot of time especially with it been a narrow route. We will then continue onwards to Epidauros and where we will visit the well preserved Ancient Theatre of Epidauros. The theatre has amazing acoustics and if you climb to the top you will be able hear the conversation of the people standing below even as a whisper. Afterwards we proceed to the town of Napflion where there will be a short photo stop to capture them memorable moment. Our drive will continue on to Mycenae. When we reach Mycenea you will be given some free time to visit the historical artifacts of Mycenae which definately impress you. Now our tour for today is coming to an end we will make for our departure for head to Olympia where you will have an overnight stay.

Day 2 : Olympia / Delphi
The plan for today is to visit the fantastic archeological sites of Olympia such as The Temple of Zeus, The Temple of Hera, Ancient Stadium and Archeology museum. Afterwards we will depart from Olympia and make our way for Delphi by driving through Patras (the very ancient city of the mythical Patreus) and go across the Corinthian Bay via the new bridge (the longest bridge in Europe) from Rio to Antirion. As we arrive in to Delphi  we will pass through the beautiful picturesque towns of Nafpactos and Itea. You will spend the night in Delphi at an arranged hotel with dinner also included.

Day 3 : Delphi/Kalambaka(Meteora)
Todays visit around Delphi which is know to be one of the most sacred and beautiful sites in all of Greece as it here you can find numerous magnificent structures such as The Temple of Apollo, Treasury of the Athenians and the Delphi museum they truly are worth to see and im sure they will make your speechless! As the day comes to an end its time to depart from Delphi and make our way over to Kalambaka (Meteora). Dinner will be included at your hotel and also an overnight stay in Kalambaka.

Day 4 : Kalambaka (Meteora) / Athens
As today is the last day of your time travelling journey we will make a visit to Meteora which is located near a village to Kalambaka. Everyone around the world recognises Meteora from its unique sculptured monasteries that sit on the top of the high rock towers, these rock towers also take an unusual shape which have been formed naturally and even in this present day the ancient wonders of Meteora are still home to many monks.. As you reach the top of the Rock Towers you will be able to sit and watch the special and spectacular view as the sunsets over Meteora. As the day comes to an end we will then make our return back to Athens by travelling via Trikala,Lamia and Thermopyla on our return route we will take a short stop for have a look at – Leonidas Monument – He was a spartan warrior and died an heroic death during the battle of Thermopylae.

*For visiting the Monastery all ladies need to wear a long skirts and gentlements long trousers.
