In this guided tour our first stop is Valley of the Butterflies. The valley is a unique natural park, its very green with a lovely river running through it. You will have a pleasant walk through the butterfly valley and it is quit relaxing. There’s a path you have to follow and on the way you’ll see many multi-colored butterflies. Butterflies are only there for a few months each year (spring time).Passing through little bridges,stone steps and uphill path,we will reach to the Monastery of the Virgin of Kalopetra built in 1784.
We will drive to Monte Smith Hill where we will enjoy the spectacular view of the Aegean sea and Rhodes town. Drive to the ancient Rhodes Acropolisdedicated to Zeus Polieus, Athena Polias and Pythian Apollo. Past the 2nd century ancient Stadium and theatre. Then continue to the D’ Amboise Gate of the Medieval City to visit the Palace of the Grand Masters of the knights of Rhodes which was built in the 14 th century by the knights of St. John of Jerusalem. It was destroyed by the explosion in 1856 and restorated between 1937-1940 under the supervision of Iralian architect Vittorio Merturino. In spite of the restoration, “The street of the Knights” has remained untouched by the passage of 500 years since it was built in the 14 th century.
