After we have seen the Stadium we will continue on our way to explore the Prime Minister’s Residence (ex-Royal Palace) which is guarded 24/7 by the Evzones that can be seen wearing very traditional infantry uniforms. As we proceed on we will pass by the Roman Temple of Olympian Zeus and also Hadrian’s Arc. Athens Acropolis-Parthenon-Temple of Niki to visit takes 1:30 minutes
Then as we finally arrive in ACROPOLIS, we reach the Parthenon we will take a walk up the hill where along the way you can see the Temple of Athena Nike, it was here that Athena was worshipped as the goddess who stands by the Athenians in the time of war and this temple still stands in a great condition. Straight after the Temple, you will pass through the grand Propylaea which in the English language means ‘Monumental Gateway’, the amazing well-kept Propylaea was created back in 437-432 B.C and also offers great views before you enter through it. Moving on you will come to the world-famous Parthenon, it can be seen from any angle you stand in Athens and shines down to the city below the same as the sun shines in the sky. This Temple was built as a dedication to Athena and is incredible – it makes the most perfect photograph to take back home as a reminder! Just next to the Parthenon is a smaller building called Erechtheion and just beside here are known legends that the very first olive trees were grown by when Athena threw the seeds to the ground.
The new Acropolis Archaeological Museum will take about 2 hours (Closed on Mondays)
Our day will continue with a visit to a museum by taking a pleasant short stroll that will take us by Herodion and Dionysos Theatre til we reach the NEW ACROPOLIS MUSEUM. This museum gives a great introduction to the Acropolis and Parthenon, has an amazing structure, and is found to be a very organized exhibition the treasures hidden away on the inside are just mind-blowing. There is a little cafe just outside where you can take a short rest before continuing through the journey that the museum offers.
At the end of your adventure today we will then transfer you back over to the port. We would also like to wish you a pleasant journey home and look forward to seeing you again on one of our many other time-traveling packages.
