You will be met at your hotel in Kusadasi between 7:00 - 7:15 am, or from centrally located hotels in Izmir. From Izmir hotels, there will be a transfer to the meeting point. The journey to the meeting point takes about one hour, followed by another three hours to reach Pamukkale.
Upon arriving at Pamukkale, we'll approach the North Gate side, where you'll encounter the Necropolis (cemetery) of Hierapolis – one of the largest ancient cemeteries in Anatolia with 1,200 graves. Explore the Roman Bath, Domitian Gate, Main Street, and Byzantium Gate. A stroll will lead you to the natural warm water terraces formed by running warm water containing calcium. The water maintains a temperature of about 35°C year-round, revealing the gleaming white travertine terraces of Pamukkale, closely located to the ruins of Hierapolis. The unique effect is created as water loses carbon dioxide, depositing limestone in steps on the plateau, resembling a huge mountain ball of cotton, giving the site its name, Pamukkale.
A lunch stop served buffet-style, will be followed by the opportunity to swim in hot red thermal pools. If you wish to swim in the Ancient Pool, also known as Cleopatra's Pool, a small additional charge applies. The pool, warmed by hot springs and covered with underwater fragments of ancient marble columns, offers a rare chance to swim among antiquities. During the Roman period, columned porticoes surrounded the pool, and earthquakes toppled them into the water, where they remain today.
