You shall be picked up from Izmir airport, Izmir Hotel, Izmir Marina, or Izmir cruise ship port. Your Izmir tour guide will hold up a sign with your name on it so you can easily find your assigned tour guide and transfer service. This Izmir tour will take approximately 4 hours, and afterward, we will drive you back to your Izmir hotel, Izmir Marina, Izmir airport, or Izmir harbor in Turkey.
In the Half-Day Izmir Tour, we shall take a drive to Izmir city center, traditionally the birthplace of Homer, who was honored here in Classical times at the Homereium. This area was once called Smyrna, but today it is called Izmir, and this very city survived the catastrophes that befell the region. In our Izmir Sightseeing Tour, our first stop will be at Mt. Pagus, just above the city, where we can find Kadifekale Castle. This castle was built in the 4th century BCE, and from Kadifekale Castle, there are excellent views across the harbor to Karsiyaka. To the west, you can see the shape of the arena where St. Polycarp was martyred, and you will also be able to see the Agora that sits at the foot of the hill and is clearly visible. Afterward, we will drive to Konak Square, and in the center of Konak, you will find the symbol of Izmir, known to be The Clock Tower. A few meters away in winding and twisting lanes and narrow courts are the shops of Izmir’s Bazaar, where you can find a bewildering range of goods—everything from flowers to antiques is on offer at bargain prices.
After you have taken in the sights on your Izmir Tour, your Izmir tour guide will give you approximately one hour of free time to stroll at your leisure or relax and have some refreshments in Konak Square. When the tour has finished, your Izmir Tour guide will return you to your pickup point. You can take a Private Izmir Tour where you can be picked up by your Izmir Tour guide at your convenience. Your Izmir Tour guide will pick you up at approximately 08:00 hours for your Izmir tour.
